Throughout the year, Roses in the Ocean hosts a range of events and activities aimed at connecting communities, encouraging help seeking behaviour, raising awareness around protective factors for suicide prevention, and raising funds to support kids and adolescents spending time in mental health facilities.
This national initiative will provide a workshop based forum to connect our extensive Lived Experience Collective with experts from five key focus areas within suicide prevention to work on specific projects:

World Suicide Prevention Day – Brisbane Event – Queen Street Mall September 10th
This international day is recognised annually with events occurring in local communities across Australia. Roses in the Ocean hosts their main public event in the Queen Street Mall, Brisbane and provides support and resources for similar events to be hosted across regional and rural Queensland.
The events connect communities with their local service providers and encourage people to reach out and support others, and to seek help when they need to. Come and visit us all on September 10th for lots of relevant, useful information, live music and speak with our lived experience volunteers.

Roses in the Ocean invites you to the ‘World Suicide Prevention Day’ Corporate & Community Breakfast Series.
Join the who’s who of Business, Media and Government sectors and hear why your involvement in this years World Suicide Prevention Day is so important.
Enjoy a great breakfast, fabulous Guest Speakers from the wellbeing, mental health and suicide prevention sectors, and the insightful story of one of our Lived Experience Collective members.
These FREE events are hosted by Roses in the Ocean and supported by the Queensland Mental Health Commission.
Registration is required, and opens in July of each year.
Rudolph’s Run December
Christmas can be a difficult time for many people in our communities, and for those who have been touched by suicide, Christmas is never quite the same.
Rudolph’s Run reminds us all that the true spirit of Christmas is all about connecting with those around us, and what better way than getting together with a group of friends, gym mates, work colleagues and family for a fun, active event!
