Why we need your support

When founded in 2011, Roses in the Ocean relied completely on a volunteer workforce, generous donations and revenue from annual fundraising events. In 2018, we received infrastructure funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health, through the National Suicide Prevention Leadership and Support Program, which enabled several key staff to be employed. However, our role as Australia’s leading Lived Experience organisation remains primarily supported by donations and fees for service work.

Our philosophy regarding donated funds

Roses in the Ocean remains true to our grassroots, ensuring that 100% of donated funds are utilised to deliver our services in community, and wherever possible, in the communities from which the funds came. Donations fund a range of activities, which ultimately build people’s capacity to play an active role in suicide prevention in their communities.

Our Public Gift Fund

All donations are received into the Roses in the Ocean Public Gift Fund.

Roses in the Ocean is a Public Company Limited by Guarantee.  It is listed on the Harm Prevention Charities Register and has full DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) Status (Level 1) with the ATO, with all donations over $2 tax deductible.  It is registered under the Corporations Act 2001. Roses in the Ocean is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
