We’re on the search for volunteer Peer CARE Connect Companions in the Peel, Rockingham & Kwinana regions in WA.

Peer CARE Connect: in Community provides a ‘golden thread’ of trained and supported community members with lived experience of suicide, known as Peer CARE Connect Companions.

The volunteer Peer CARE Connect Companions will provide connection and ‘light touch’ support to people who are bereaved through suicide, caring for someone through a suicidal crisis, have experienced suicidal thoughts, survived a suicide attempt, or community members impacted by suicide. The nature of your role may vary from having a cuppa with someone, or accompanying them to an appointment, cooking a meal, walking the dog, or just chatting via text, email or phone.


  • Comprehensive training is provided.
  • Volunteers required for a minimum of 3 hours per week.
  • Ongoing learning and connection with peers through a Community of Practice.
  • Support provided by SP Peer CARE Connect Coordinator.
