Be a Community TouchPoints Trainer in your Nepean Blue Mountains community
Roses in the Ocean and Nepean Blue Mountains PHN are seeking community members with a personal lived experience of suicide to become a Community TouchPoints Trainer to deliver TouchPoints workshops across the Nepean Blue Mountains region. Roses in the Ocean defines a lived experience of suicide as having: experienced suicidal thoughts; survived a suicide attempt; supported a loved one through suicidal crisis; or been bereaved by suicide.
Community TouchPoints Trainers should have:
- a passion for building suicide prevention and post-vention skills within their community
- a genuine insight into their own lived experience of suicide and the capacity to share these insights in safe and meaningful way
- comfortable in group facilitation and great communication skills
- availability to attend the TouchPoints Train the Trainer program in full
- the ability to arrange and deliver 4 TouchPoints workshops in their community over a 12-month period
- a valid Blue Card for working with children and current National Criminal History Check
Community TouchPoints Trainers will receive:
- lived experience designed and delivered TouchPoints training
- remuneration for all delivered workshops following training
- administrative support from a dedicated Roses in the Ocean team
