OUR VOICE IN ACTION is a two-day capacity building workshop designed to empower people with a lived experience of suicide to effectively draw upon their lived experience and develop key skills to inform, influence change and enhance existing suicide prevention activities. The workshop explores managing expectations and power imbalances, casting a Critical Lens over content and imagery, and provides an opportunity to experience a consultation process that feeds into our national qualitative research project.
VOICES OF IN-SIGHT offers a unique opportunity to reflect on your lived experience and learn how to share your personal story for greatest impact and influence and become a member of the ‘Voices of In-Sight’ Speakers Hub. This is a deep dive into your lived experience which leads to meaningful, impactful conversations and presentations.
LIVED EXPERIENCE IN THE MEDIA is a two-hour workshop, designed in conjunction with Everymind’s MindFrame Project, that provides people with a lived experience of suicide with the knowledge, confidence and skills to engage positively with media. Practice interviews further build participants confidence.
LAUNCH PAD is an empowering one-day workshop designed to assist community-based suicide prevention action groups, and Lived Experience Advisory Groups use their lived experience in a planned, coordinated and impactful manner. Groups leave the day with clear direction and a six month action plan.
LIVING PERSPECTIVES OF SUICIDE is a full-day lived experience informed and delivered suicide awareness and intervention workshop designed specifically for frontline responders and social services staff. Co-designed and delivered with Lifeline.
TOUCHPOINTS is a lived experience designed and delivered ‘lifekeeper’ workshop. The 4 hour informative and interactive workshop is designed specifically to build the capacity and confidence of people to better understand and respond to suicide and is based on evidence based gatekeeper content and principles.
PEER CARE COMPANIONS is a two-day workshop designed for specifically to provide either –
1) a soft overlay of the nuances of peer work in the suicide context for people with existing peer worker expertise in another health setting; or
2) basic skills and context for lived experience of suicide volunteer peers moving into soft peer roles supporting an existing peer workforce.
This workshop is delivered in conjunction with, and following Lived Experience training and ASIST.
